“I thought freedom meant traveling the world and sipping cocktails on the beach.”

A few years ago I was a teacher with no plan to start an online business. What began as a few simple digital products slowly grew into a business that eventually earned more than my full-time salary.

Then, in 2023, life completely knocked me sideways.

It was the hardest season I’ve ever been through. And while I could barely think about work, that little business quietly kept going. It paid our bills, gave me breathing room, and let me focus on healing instead of wondering how we’d afford next month’s rent.

That’s when I realized freedom was never about working from a beach or “making money while you sleep.” Freedom is having options when life doesn’t go according to plan.

This is the story of how I built that business, without a big audience, without a design degree, and without being particularly techy, and why I now believe almost anyone can turn what they already know into a digital product that helps other people while creating a little more freedom for themselves.

Hi, my name is Rianna, and back in 2020, I was “just” a teacher and had been for 12 years. Definitely not an entrepreneur.

When Covid hit and schools moved online, my world suddenly became a laptop screen and a lot of unexpected free time. For the first time in years, I had the space to learn something new.

So I did.

I signed up to become a postpartum doula and pediatric sleep consultant simply because I wanted to prep myself for motherhood.

As part of the certification, I needed a website.

I didn’t have the budget to hire a designer, so I figured I’d try building one myself.

It took a lot of Googling.
A lot of YouTube videos.
And more than a few moments of wondering what on earth I was doing.

But eventually, it started to come together.

When other consultants saw my website, they started asking who had made it.

I still remember how awkward it felt saying, “Actually... I did.”

Then they asked (which I wasn’t expecting):
“Could you make one for me too?”

Every part of me wanted to say no.
I wasn’t a designer.
I didn’t have a degree.
I wasn’t an expert.
Who was I to charge someone for this?

So I built my first few websites completely free.

But every single one of those people wanted to pay me anyway.
Looking back, that moment completely changed the way I think about business.

Because they weren’t paying for a design degree.
They weren’t paying for years of experience.
They were paying because I’d already figured something out that they hadn’t.

I could save them hours of frustration, endless Googling, and the feeling of staring at a blank screen wondering where to start.

Then one day, someone asked me:

“I love your work… but is there a cheaper option?”

I was fully booked with custom sites, still teaching, and honestly a little exhausted.
But I really wanted to help her.

So we came up with an idea:
I’d create one website layout as a template she could buy for less and customize herself. In return, I was allowed to sell that same template to other consultants too.
I built it. She loved it.

I put it online, hoping someone might buy it.
It felt almost too simple.

Then someone did.
And then someone else.
And then another.

I remember refreshing my phone over and over because I genuinely couldn’t believe people were buying something I’d only created once.

That was the moment I discovered the magic of digital products.
I wasn’t trading hours for money anymore.
I could help more people, charge less than a custom website, and somehow earn more than I ever could by doing everything one-on-one.

It honestly felt like I’d stumbled across a secret nobody had told me about.
Once I saw what was possible, I couldn’t stop.

One template became several.
Templates became guides.
Guides became online courses.

Before I knew it, I had a small library of digital products working for me in the background.
Most days I’d wake up to emails saying, “You’ve made a sale.”

While I was sleeping.
While I was out for dinner.
While I was hiking.
Every notification felt surreal.

Eventually, that little side business grew bigger than my teaching salary.
So I made one of the scariest—and best—decisions of my life.

I resigned.

For the first time, my income wasn’t tied to the hours I worked.
This was the freedom I’d always imagined.

Choosing my own hours.
Working from anywhere.
Closing my laptop in the middle of the day because I felt like going for a swim.
Waking up to another sale while I was exploring a new country.

It felt unreal. I’d gone from “just a teacher” to someone whose digital products paid for plane tickets, Airbnbs, and slow mornings in new cities.
I genuinely believed that was the dream.
But looking back, I realize I was defining freedom by all the fun parts.

The travel.
The flexibility.
The extra income.

I had no idea life was about to teach me a completely different definition.

Then 2023 happened.

I won’t go into all the details, but it was the kind of year that splits your life into a “before” and an “after.”
Hospitals. Phone calls. Paperwork. Grief. The kind of season where getting out of bed feels like a full-time job.

For the first time since I’d started my business, I completely disconnected from it.
I didn’t have the energy to be creative. I didn’t have the capacity to “push through.” I honestly didn’t care about sales. I just wanted to get through the day.

And here’s the part that still makes me emotional when I think about it:

While I was sitting in waiting rooms, lying awake at night, or crying on the kitchen floor, Stripe kept sending me emails.

You received a payment of $97.00!

You received a payment of $97.00!

You received a payment of $97.00!

Templates. Guides. Courses I’d created months or even years before.
People I’d never met were buying things I’d built, long before my life turned upside down.

And those “little” sales added up.
Rent was covered. Groceries were covered. Bills were covered.

We weren’t getting rich. But we were safe.

And for the first time, I really understood what I’d accidentally built.
It wasn’t just a “digital product business.”
I had something most people don’t get in a crisis: space.

Space to grieve. Space to rest. Space to fall apart without everything else collapsing with me.

That’s when my definition of freedom completely changed.

“Freedom is having options when life doesn’t go according to plan.”

Freedom, I realized, wasn’t sipping cocktails on the beach (even though that part was fun).
Freedom is being able to step back from work and know that, at the very least, next month’s bills are going to be okay.

That steady income from products I’d already created gave me something priceless in the middle of the hardest year of my life:

Breathing room.

And while I was in that season, something else was happening in the background:

The online world was changing.

When I finally had the capacity to look at my business again, it felt like I’d walked back into a completely different internet.

Everyone had a course.
Everyone had a membership.
Everyone was selling “passive income” and “make money while you sleep.”

And I caught myself thinking the same thing you might be thinking right now:
“Isn’t this… kind of done?” “Does the world really need another digital product?” “Isn’t the market already saturated?”

My courses were still selling...
But fewer people were actually finishing them.
And that bothered me.
Because I’ve never wanted to sell digital products for the sake of selling digital products.
I want people to get results.

Around that same time...
AI exploded.

Overnight, it felt like you could ask a robot almost anything and get a pretty decent answer. The kind of information we used to pay for in courses was suddenly… free. Available in seconds.

And the more I experimented with it, the more I realized something much bigger was happening.
For the first time, we could create digital products that didn’t just teach people what to do...
They could actually do the work for them.

Instead of handing someone a guide about pricing...
You could hand them a tool that calculates their price in seconds.
Instead of explaining a process over twenty pages...
You could build something that helps them reach the answer in under a minute.

And suddenly, I saw this whole new possibility:

What if, instead of selling courses that people feel guilty for not finishing… I built tiny, focused tools that use AI to help them get a specific result in seconds? Like a shortcut.

So I started experimenting.

The first micro tool I created was a simple pricing calculator for consultants. Nothing fancy. You answer a few questions about your experience, your location, your offers… and it suggests a personalised price range.

That was it.

I put it out there for free, honestly just curious if anyone would care.

They did. People liked it. People shared it. And they told me how much relief they felt seeing numbers instead of staring at a guide explaining how to calculate it and them trying to “figure it out.”

So I went a step further and built a package-creator tool behind it. Same idea, just a little deeper: it helped them turn that price into clear, sellable package.

And this time, I charged for it.

And people paid.
And honestly?
It gave me the same feeling I had back in 2020 when I sold that first website template.
That little voice saying...
“Why do not more people talk about this?”

And then I realized.. it’s still early..
Most people are using AI to ask random questions, write emails, or plan their holidays.
Very few people have realized you can use it to build genuinely useful digital products that solve real problems, and get paid for them.

That’s exactly why I’m so excited about it.
I genuinely believe we’re standing at the beginning of another shift.
The people who embraced templates, courses or memberships early built incredible businesses.
I think the same thing is happening with AI micro tools.

So... where does that leave you?

Maybe you’re reading this thinking,
“This all sounds amazing, Rianna... but I wouldn’t even know what to sell.”

I used to think creating a digital product started with having a brilliant idea.
It doesn’t.
It starts with noticing.

Every day, people get stuck.
They waste hours trying to figure something out.
They open ten browser tabs.
They watch five YouTube videos.
They ask ChatGPT.
They still don’t have the answer they’re looking for.

Those little moments of frustration?
That’s where great digital products are born.
From making one small part of someone’s life easier.

That’s exactly what I’ll help you with.

I honestly believe everyone knows something that someone else doesn’t.
Everyone has figured something out.
Everyone has found a shortcut.
The only difference is that most people don’t realize it’s valuable.

And no... you don’t need to build the next million-dollar app.
In fact, I’d rather you didn’t.
Your first digital product should almost feel too simple.

One problem.
One solution.
One person.
Then another.
Then another.

That’s how this started for me.
And it’s still how I build products today.

Maybe your next thought is...
“Okay... but I’m terrible with technology.”

I hear this one all the time.
And I always smile.
Because people think the hardest part is building the AI tool.
Honestly?
That’s probably the easiest part.

If you can type a prompt into ChatGPT, you can build one of these.
You don’t need to code.
You don’t need to become an AI expert.
You don’t need to spend months learning complicated software.

I’ll show you exactly which tools I use, exactly how I set them up, and exactly how I turn an idea into something people can actually buy.
Step by step.

The real skill isn’t technology.
It’s learning to see opportunities.
Everything else is just clicking buttons.

Could you figure all of this out yourself? Probably.
I figured most of it out through trial and error. Thousands of hours of experimenting. Launching things that worked. Launching things that didn’t. Learning what people actually buy.

I’ve made the mistakes already.
Which means you don’t have to.
That’s why I created this step-by-step process.
Not to give you another thing you’ll never finish.
But to give you a clear process you can actually follow.

One that takes you from,
“I have no idea what I’m doing...”
to,
“I can’t believe someone just bought something I made.”

Why now?
Because I genuinely believe we’re standing at the beginning of another shift.

The people who embraced websites early built businesses.
The people who embraced templates early built businesses.
The people who embraced online courses early built businesses.

Today, I believe the same thing is happening with AI-powered micro tools.

Will this opportunity disappear tomorrow?
Probably not.
But it won’t stay this quiet forever either.

The best time to build something that can keep working for you isn’t when you desperately need it. It’s while you still have the space to create it.

I hope you never need your digital products the way I needed mine.

I hope yours pay for family holidays.
A maternity leave.
A few extra days with your children.
The confidence to reduce your hours.
A plane ticket.
A dream you’ve been putting off.
Or simply the peace of knowing that if life suddenly changes...
You have options.

If that’s the kind of freedom you’re looking for, I’d love to show you exactly how to do it.
Click the button below, and I’ll take you behind the scenes of the exact process, from finding your first idea to building your first AI-powered micro tool and putting it out into the world.

Who knows?
Maybe a few years from now, you’ll look back at this page and realize it was the day your own freedom story began.

I can’t wait to see what you build.
